why cant I sign into yahoo messenger from my computer and why cant I edit my connection preferences?
i can sign in via other computers on the same network but not from my laptop.i last signed in at a hotel.back to home and office and it wont log in.when I check my messenger internet connection on the other computers it says DSL/Cable and on my laptop it says HIGH SPEED/LAN but wont let me change to DSL/CABLE
Have you tried going to Control Panel, Network connections and see how many Local area connections you find there.
If you have more then one, left-click on all the ones you don't want and choose disable, then go to the one you want and choose disable and then enable, this should work.
If not come back and tell me what did you find in Network connections?:)
